Concept
The frame of our cargo bike is made almost entirely of carbon. The passenger cabin – a part of the frame – connects the front wheel to the rear frame. By doing without steel or aluminium struts, we save a lot of weight.
Due to its enormous crash safety and low weight, carbon has been an indispensable part of Formula 1 since the early 1980s. Carbon has a higher stiffness than steel while at the same time beeing five times lighter.
Optionally dividable
You can easily disconnect or reconnect the cabin in a few seconds with two quick-releases. This makes everyday life easier when you have to go shopping with a sleeping child or want to park the cargo bike in the stairwell to save space.
The LeichtLast bikes the only cargo bikes that fit in trains and lifts.

The high degree of flexibility makes the Libelle suitable for everyday use. The cabin can be closed with different covers and is thus optimally adaptable to all weather conditions. In addition, the cabin can be optionally separated from the rear frame. This turns the bike into a pram in a few seconds. At the same time, this allows for a space saving storage of the cargo bike.
Safety first
For maximum safety, the entire inside of the cabin is reinforced with a Kevlar-like fabric which is inserted into the carbon matrix as the last layer. This type of material – sometimes used for bulletproof vests – prevents the cabin from splintering in the event of an accident and provides maximum protection for your children.
